Double Page Spread Coursework

This is the first draft of my double page spread. I have used simple fonts and still kept the consistent colour scheme of pink, black, white and purple. I have kept the language easy and simple to reflect the young age of my target readership. On my second page of my double page spread I have included black and white pictures (edited in Photoshop). I have put them in a collage type format to make it look like a photobooth, which are always viewed as fun. I thought that this would be a good way to present the lively and carefree side of my product.

Front Cover Coursework - Second Draft

This is my second draft of my magazine front cover. I have made the logo bigger for a better impact but kept the same neon pink so it's eye catching and the colour connects with the target audience. The top story is also a big font so it's obvious that it's the central story of the magazine. I've moved the barcode to a more discrete position in the corner and removed the yellow circle displaying the price to a clean colour of white and so it adds to the tidier look of the magazine.

At the bottom of the cover, I've changed it to colour blocks but kept the word "OMG" as it's a word my target audience uses and therefore would associate themselves the magazine.

Contents Page

This is my Contents Page. I have used colour blocks for the layout to help differentiate the total contents of my magazine and the top story. I have used the consistent colour scheme from the front cover of pink, purple black and white. I have also made sure to bold, underline or enlarge parts of the text that are particularly significant such as page numbers and main stories.
The pictures that I have included are from the main stories to show their importance. I edited the pictures in Photoshop.

Front Cover Coursework - First Draft

This is the first draft of my Front Cover. The central dominant image is my original photography and a picture of two girls reflecting the audience of the magazine. It would show the audience because of the fact that these girls are possible inspirational figures of the readers of my magazine, and typical people that they would look up to. I also made my central dominant image tie in with my colour scheme of different bright and eye-catching pinks by adding in the lipstick on the models of the same shade. I think this gives my magazine a complete look and the overall house style would appeal to my target readership.
My logo is big and has a heart at the end, which I think would appeal to my target audience because a heart is an obvious girlie shape that they seem to be attracted to.
I further used informal language to appeal to my target audience, for instance, on this front cover i have used the term 'OMG!' to describe the popular artists included inside. This would be successful because it is a typical word that my target audience would use and therefore they could associate themselves with the magazine.
